Our Story
LASER began as a career goal dreamed up between two university classmates. It was the future potential to apply everything they learned in class and everything they experienced on the job to the industry. To bring the quality service clients deserve at a price they can afford. Add six years, hundreds of shows, and loads of paperwork, LASER became a reality. Now, LASER, LLC is a full event service and production company specializing in approachable and affordable lighting and audio services.
Currently, LASER is the in-house audio-visual team at New Center Park providing audio support and projections for the summer programming organized by Midtown Detroit, Inc. We also provide audio, lighting, and other technicians to visiting theatrical productions performing in the park.
John Schmidt
John’s interest in audio and events was fueled by his early introduction to the industry helping with sound at local productions at 11 years old. Since then, he has graduated from Wayne State University with a BFA in Technical Theatre Design and serves as the technical director at Oxford Performing Arts Center.
Andrew Cora
With a BFA in Technical Theatre Design from Wayne State University, Andrew is trained in stage lighting and sound design, electrical wiring, and scenic construction. Andrew has since gained countless hours of concert sound and lighting experience as both a house and a touring engineer.
Andrea Harthorn
Andrea is a graduate of Ferris State University with a BS in Music Industry Management with a minor in Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications. She has worked in the industry in promotions, event production, and most recently, live sound reinforcement and light design for concerts, corporate events, and private parties.
